You are the assignee for the bug, or are watching the assignee. http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=144695 Summary: Create CD/DVD Archive dialog issues Product: digikam Version: unspecified Platform: Ubuntu Packages OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general AssignedTo: digikam-devel kde org ReportedBy: bcr wt net Version: 0.9.2-SVN (using KDE KDE 3.5.5) Installed from: Ubuntu Packages OS: Linux In the Create CD/DVD Archive dialog there are a number of improvements that can be made. Selection panel The "Target Media Information" section at the bottom should just be labled "Target Media". The choice in dropdown widget that lists all the various media choices is duplicated in black text to the left, i.e. redundant per the example below: Total size: 994.6 MB / 650.0 MB [CD (650Mb) | v] I realize that the size text turns red when the size of the target media is exceeded but I would like it to be able to create a multi-CD archive and tell me how may disks I will need: Total size: 994.6 MB onto: [CD (650Mb) | v] disks required: 2 The size choices show the disk sizes in 'Mb' and 'Gb' which is incorrect. Metric unit are case-sensitive and these should be 'MB' and 'GB' unless you are talking about megabits or gigabits respectively. Also, the decimal separator is not locale-aware and the DVD entry displays '4,7 Gb' instead of '4.7 Gb' here in North America. HTML Interface panel 'Build CD HTML interface' -> 'Create HTML interface' (could be on a DVD) The default archive title, 'KIPI Albums Archiving', mentions KIPI which means nothing to the end user or his archive. It could be much improved by defaulting to the name of the (first?) album itself. If the archiver is adapted to create archives that span multiple disks (maybe it already does? If so it isn't obvious) then it should also append a sequence count: 'Brian's Vacation to Hell (disk 1 of 3)' Volume Descriptor panel Volume name field -> default to the name of the first album wherever possible or whatever the user specified for the archive title on the previous HTML archive title (if created). Volume set name field -> default to the name the user specified for the volume name + ' archive'. The current default is incorrect as it ends in a verb 'archiving' when it should be a noun: 'archive'. Preparer field -> instead of 'KIPI CD-archiving plugin' I would default to the name of the current user as this is more meaningful.
