Browsing problems

Anders Lund
Hi,

Since digikam 5, I end up with stiff shoulders, crying, when browsing images
in digikam. It feels physically hard, and often it simly gets stuck, the next
image never shows.

Since browsing is a key functionality, this is a big problem using digikam.

Never happened in 4.x.

I am mostly browsing RAW (CR2) photos, digikam is showing the built-in
previews.

I do not understand how this can be a problem.

Anyone else experiencing this?

Kindly,
Anders

What do you seen in the console as debug statements ?

I press the right (or left) key to go to the next (or previous) photo, and it
takes ages to display, or does not display at all. using slideshow is better,
but does sometime hang a bit.

Apart from that, I believe it has to do with memory, it is worse if my memory
is low. Still, I can not remember having this kind of problems with digikam 4
series ever.

Kindly,
Anders

Typically, Qt5 must be better than Qt4. Here i cannot see this kind of dysfunction with a VM and low memory.

What do you see in the console as debug traces ? something relevant of Exiv2 ?
