Any FAQ?

Hi all,

Newly joined and considering contributing.

I was wondering if anyone could point me to any FAQ on getting started with a development environment, etc.  

I'm sure I'm not the first to ask.  Is there a way to search through the archive easily?

Hi,

there is no devel FAQ, but the first start to compile is to take a
look in API doc section here :

https://www.digikam.org/api/

It's not perfect certainly and can be improved.

Hello Eric,

As Gilles suggested, the first step would be to get the DigiKam source code,
and compile it yourself. The following guide should help you:

I also found this link to be very useful when I built DigiKam myself
recently :

The list of all dependencies that are needed for the compilation process are
present in the link Gilles provided.
