About slideshow

Fabien-5
Hi,

The new native slideshow is great. I just have a few remarks :)

Is it possible to hide the buttons when we switch manually to another
picture ?

I think it could be useful, if possible, to use left click and right
click to go to previous/next picture. And also to have Home/End go to
first/last image.

I don't know if you plan to add more options, but I guess this could be
done later, after next stable release. I was thinking at the ability to
display not only filename but comments, tags, iptc/exif values...

If you think these features could be useful, I will add a wish in bko.

BTW: congratulations again :)

sure. Actually the current implementation work like the current kipi-plugins
slideshow wiyhout use OpenGL and transition Effects. I have renamed on svn
the kipi-plugin Slideshow menu entry like "Advanced SlideShow" to prevent
confusion from users.

But are you seen than the native SlideShow tool is supported by Showfoto and
image editor too. It use the same settings from setup

Also, this tool can slide all RAW files, that SlideShow kipi-plugin cannot
do... To solve this issue, i'm currently working to build a new libkdcraw
shared library in extragear/libs witch SlideShow kipi-plugins can use to
display RAW preview images. But it's for later 0.9.1 release...

Already reported in this room...

yes, of course.

All is already in my mind, and also the capability to do a recursive slide
into an album tree...

Yes. I will create a new slideshow section in B.K.O.

Print Comments is done.

From digiKam ==> the Comment from database.

From Camera GUI & Showfoto ==> the Comment from JFIF | Exif | Iptc.

The implementation is ready to display photograph informations too (it's
handle all photo info available into image properties sidebar in fact)

I think than it's not need to display all photo info during slideshow. I
propose to display these infos only :

- Creation Date
- Aperture / Focal
- Exposure / sensitivity

What do you think about ?

Well, I don't know. I guess some people would ask for more. But, maybe
it wouldn't be very reasonable to have access to any tag :)

Personally, I'd like to be able to show the camera model and the GPS
altitude (quite useful for pictures in mountains ;-) ).

As Fabien mentioned - GPS info would be handy (human readable!).

But you will never satisfy everyone (eg. I need for work are: dimensions
in pixels, dpi, weight in MB, colorspace). I think you have only two
choices:

- leave as it is
- fully configurable with all info available on demand (as for ToolTip).

Confirming this too: how to make manual slideshow without buttons? And
how to set it manual by default?
