0.9.4-beta3 release test tarball...

Hi all,

It's time to release 0.9.4-beta3. Pre-release tarball including all
GUI translations is available for testing at this url :

http://digikam3rdparty.free.fr/0.9.x-releases/digikam-0.9.4-beta3.tar.bz2

Please compile and test if all work fine on your computer before
official release planed on SF.net area in few days

Gilles I need help.
I'm very busy at work untill Friday.
Next Wednesday i need to go to Rome to visit a customer, and i'm not sure
i could be on the net.
So please ask achim if libkipi/libkexiv2 tarballs[1] work fine
for him (he should have tested the binary compatibility).
And upload them on SF so that digikam 0.9.4 can use them.

Mandriva 2008. Compiles properly, works fine.

One startup thing:

I moved my working album and had nothing in that place. digiKam asked me
for new album path and later quit with konsole:

digikam: ERROR: Could not find service 'digikam'.
zone still contained 4 blocks

And dialog: Cannot restart digiKam automatically, please restart
manually.

One real bug:

After filtering on status line (as with rating) image description isn't
updated automatically. Example:

Focus is on image.jpg . This is 6th image of 120. Status line is:

image.jpg (6 of 120)

Set rating of this image to five stars. Start filtering, Even when
filtering left only this one image text in status line is the same. Only
change of focus brings change.

I can reproduce it. Sound like a broken sihnal/slot somewhere. I will fix it

Gilles I've just realized you haven't uploaded libkipi/libkexiv2
is there any important reasons for that? (all but memory :) )
It's late now and i'm tired, if there are no problems i'll try to do
it tomorrow.

This is an important bug. Please file a new file in BKO with high priority.

Marcel,

I suspect than something have been removed somewhere, especially a
signal and slots connection or an emited signal. It's certainly duing
to a wrong copy and paste or something like that. Perhaps in
AlbumManager, i'm not sure.

I need help if you can. perhaps the better way is to compare svn log ?
