Hi,
What is that crossed red circle for that always shows up in the middle of an image within several tools? I see it in "automatic color correction", "monochrom tool" etc. First I thought it would show the position of a spot within the histogram, but moving that circle to somehwre else doesn't change anything, at least, as far as I realized... I guess, there is some use for that, but what? If not, how can I remove it? b.t.w. digiKam was always good, now it's even better. Great work you do! kind regards Daniel -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Barcelona professional photography: http://www.daniel-bauer.com _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I remember that in some old version of digikam we can use that red circle to see the corresponding color on the histogram, but in the newer versions it doesn't seem to work any more... Maybe Gilles or someone else of the developers can give us some more hints. regards gerlos -- "Life is pretty simple: You do some stuff. Most fails. Some works. You do more of what works. This is exactly what red circle do. And it work fine here. I have the latest 1.0 digikam available as rpm from OpenSuse... I don't care about it - but maybe the info is interesting for you :-) have a nice day. It seems to be a bit more complicate :
- with only the original photo displayed, it doesn't work - with only the target photo : it works - when original/target are displayed together : it works on the target size, but not on the original one Does it make sense ? Yes, it make a sence to only work on target image because the
information displayed from histogram is target image. The color components is displayed with a marker in histogram. Do you see this ? The idea is to check is color is oversatured or undersatured in target image, after to have applied colors effect. I always use the "mouse-over"-view (change between original and target when hovering), so when I move the red circle nothing happens, because I'm always in the original... Now I tried a different mode and I see that the position in the histogram is shown in the target... Didn't realize this before. However its a bit confusing to me that the circle is also shown in the original, where it is of no use. Would be nice to have that circle only in the target view, or, to show the histogramn position in the original, too. On the other hand, I'm quite easy to confuse :-) have a nice day! OK, here's the reason why it seemed not working to me! I use the "mouse-over" view too. > However its a bit confusing to me that the circle is also shown in the > original, where it is of no use. I agree, maybe it should do something useful also in our case, or not be there at all. Otherwise, it could seem broken or useless, as noted before. regards gerlos _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
