When it will finalized. It take time. Certainly not for 0.10.0 release.

Also it still some others parts to test in digiKam before to publish final
release. In other words, it's not yet a priority

1/ digikam use multithreading everywhere. so if thread maanagement is fine,
they canbe forks to another processor easily.

2/ for RAW decoding, we use LibRaw since few month. If you compile libkdcraw
with OpenMp support, Raw decoding will use parallelized computation. Tested
here on Intel double core, but never on AMD.

In general, i think intel multiprocessors architecture is better supported
under Linux than AMD...

Hey all

I'm a new user of Digikam (and DSLR for that matter too) and found it
very easy to use but sure there still much to learn :-)

I'm wondering, how do you organize your pictures on a folder level? Do
you use dates and handle everything within Digikam or do you create a
folder for every event and handle the rest inside Digikam.

Many thanks for your inputs.

Re: video thumbnails

Gilles Caulier-4
I think no (here KDE 4.2.2)

video thumbs are provided by KDE API (phonon) which still to do. I hae
talk about phonon team one month ago, and code still missing.

digiKam is not the only applicaton which need this feature. Look
konqueror, Dolphin, or other media management program. video still not
previewed.

Re: video thumbnails

mlnie
For me video thumbnails work.

I have Ubuntu 9.04, freshly installed. After installing digikam I had no
video thumbnails, but installing the package mplayerthumbs fixed this.

Hope this helps.

Cheers,

Michael
