Dear Gilles,
I know the great thing is still in the making, I just want to help to debug:
 
There is a problem with the slider below the histogram (see attachnment):
there is one arrow to much on the right end, and the shift to the right
doesn't work.

This is no mine. This is relevant of your KDE theme. Check inKDE control center...

It work fine here....

Also, checkout again svn. I have polished implementation today.

oh, i have mixed few code shared between my laptop and my main computer. now, i can reproduce it. Fixed in svn...

It works better, all arrows work, but there are still 3 arrows. I think there
should be 2 only?

there is no option for that :

I suspect a KDE theme rule in background
