Hello,
is there still no possibility to generate/rebuild the thumbnails for one, and only one album? Or is this hidden somewhere I didn't find it? Problem: Adding some hundred new cr2 images to a new album. It only generates the thumbs for those actually shown in the window. This means I'd have to sit here some hours, just to wait a minute or two then page-down, another wait etc... Rebuilding all thumbnais (of all albums) would probably take 2 weeks, so this is not an option for me... Any other possibility? thanks. Hi,
I agree with Daniel I find this annoying too. It would be great if the thumbnails were all generated during importation. I think that during importation of pictures the cpu is often idle waiting for the pictures to be transfered from the camera, it would be nice to use this time to compute thumbnails. By the way, it would be nice also if the automatic rotation of pictures during import and downloading of pictures were two seperated threads. Well, I disagree. The user should be the one to decide when to do the thumbnailing as it takes so long (at least on my machine). This particular problem has been keeping me away from ususing digikam full time (when searching for a few pictures is *MUCH* faster to use dolphin) Damnshock _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

It would be nice if digikam could create thumbnails when downloading images, why don't add this function to the download dialog? It could be done adding a checkbox "generate thumbnails" to the dialog, so if someone is interested he/she could activate the function. I'm thinking of that days when I return from a long photo session with a lot of RAW pictures (you know, sometimes I shot more than 1 GB of photos in a week-end), and want to filter, classify and editing them after dinner: I could start the download job before dinner and find everything ready for processing after. regards gerlos _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Hi, For me, it will be great if the invisible photos of the current album will be generated too when I am in this album. As it was said, for the moment, only the visible thumbnail are generated, but I don't know where is the matter if all selected pictures (by album, by date, by any other search) was "thumbnailed" in background even if they are not apparent for the moment. May it could be chosen by an option (to give the choice to desactivate it for slowest computer) ? -- Nicolas Boulesteix - Chasseur de lueurs - http://www.photonoxx.fr _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
