Can you test with another NON KDE program which can perform lossless transform
through libjpeg. Perhaps another image viewer from GNome project for ex. Just
to see if problem is reproducible.

Note : Gwenview us a similar method to process lossless transform than digiKam.
It's not the same code, but it use libjpeg in background
