in current implementation from svn, Marcel has patched code to fix unitialized
splitter size problem... Here all work fine now.

But you are right : there  is a config flush problem, certainly relevant of
KDELibs (config files management is delegate to KDE api)

So i recommend to use at least digikam 0.10.0 beta2, Qt 4.4.1, and KDE 4.1 (or
better current svn implementation if you can)
