I tried with several photos, modifying the blur-parameter of step 1 (only
active step) from very low to very high, but no difference is visible. I think
this worked a year before.

Agreed. This definitely used to work, but now after almost one year still
doesn't (4.7.0). This feature was my #1 reason to love Showfoto!
