Hello all, Something has changed in the Ubuntu repositories earlier this week and now I've got a conflict somewhere around digikam. This is using Ubuntu natty and the 'philip5' PPA and no others. The first error I get is this; "The following packages have unmet dependencies: kipi-plugins: Depends: libkcalcore4 (>= 4:4.6.5) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1 is installed Depends: libkdecore5 (>= 4:4.4.95) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is installed Depends: libkdeui5 (>= 4:4.4.95) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is installed Depends: libkfile4 (>= 4:4.4.4) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is installed Depends: libkhtml5 (>= 4:4.4.4) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is installed Depends: libkio5 (>= 4:4.4.4) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is installed Depends: libkipi8 (>= 4:4.6.5) but 4:4.6.5-natty~ppa1 is installed Depends: libkjsapi4 (>= 4:4.4.4) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is installed Depends: libkparts4 (>= 4:4.4.4) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is installed Depends: libksane0 (>= 4:4.6.5) but 4:4.6.5-natty~ppa1 is installed Depends: libnepomuk4 (>= 4:4.4.4) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is installed Depends: libnepomukutils4 (>= 4:4.5.80) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is installed Depends: libphonon4 (>= 4:4.7.0really4.4.4) but 4:4.7.0really4.5.0-0ubuntu3 is installed Depends: libqt4-dbus (>= 4:4.5.3) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is installed Depends: libqt4-network (>= 4:4.5.3) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is installed Depends: libqt4-opengl (>= 4:4.5.3) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is installed Depends: libqt4-svg (>= 4:4.5.3) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is installed Depends: libqt4-xml (>= 4:4.5.3) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is installed Depends: libqt4-xmlpatterns (>= 4:4.6.1) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is installed Depends: libqtcore4 (>= 4:4.7.0~beta1) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is installed Depends: libqtgui4 (>= 4:4.6.2) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is installed Depends: kipi-plugins-common (= 2:2.3.0-natty~ppa1) but 2:2.2.0-natty~ppa3 is installed " Next I tried 'apt-get install kipi-plugins' to see what happened. Hi
I see the problem and it's a packaging problem with natty not using KDE 4.7.x that need a fix. I'll try to upload a fix ASAP for that. /Philip On Fri, Nov 11, 2011 at 7:23 PM, jon piesing <[hidden email]> wrote: > Hello all, > Something has changed in the Ubuntu repositories earlier this week and now > I've got a conflict somewhere around digikam. > This is using Ubuntu natty and the 'philip5' PPA and no others. > > The first error I get is this; > "The following packages have unmet dependencies: > > kipi-plugins: Depends: libkcalcore4 (>= 4:4.6.5) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1 is > installed > Depends: libkdecore5 (>= 4:4.4.95) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is > installed > Depends: libkdeui5 (>= 4:4.4.95) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is > installed > Depends: libkfile4 (>= 4:4.4.4) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is > installed > Depends: libkhtml5 (>= 4:4.4.4) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is > installed > Depends: libkio5 (>= 4:4.4.4) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is > installed > Depends: libkipi8 (>= 4:4.6.5) but 4:4.6.5-natty~ppa1 is > installed > Depends: libkjsapi4 (>= 4:4.4.4) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is > installed > Depends: libkparts4 (>= 4:4.4.4) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is > installed > Depends: libksane0 (>= 4:4.6.5) but 4:4.6.5-natty~ppa1 is > installed > Depends: libnepomuk4 (>= 4:4.4.4) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 is > installed > Depends: libnepomukutils4 (>= 4:4.5.80) but 4:4.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 > is installed > Depends: libphonon4 (>= 4:4.7.0really4.4.4) but > 4:4.7.0really4.5.0-0ubuntu3 is installed > Depends: libqt4-dbus (>= 4:4.5.3) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is > installed > Depends: libqt4-network (>= 4:4.5.3) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is > installed > Depends: libqt4-opengl (>= 4:4.5.3) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is > installed > Depends: libqt4-svg (>= 4:4.5.3) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is > installed > Depends: libqt4-xml (>= 4:4.5.3) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is > installed > Depends: libqt4-xmlpatterns (>= 4:4.6.1) but > 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is installed > Depends: libqtcore4 (>= 4:4.7.0~beta1) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 > is installed > Depends: libqtgui4 (>= 4:4.6.2) but 4:4.7.2-0ubuntu6.3 is > installed > Depends: kipi-plugins-common (= 2:2.3.0-natty~ppa1) but > 2:2.2.0-natty~ppa3 is installed > " > > Next I tried 'apt-get install kipi-plugins' to see what happened. Yes it's working again. Thank you - particularly for continuing to support natty so digikam users have the choice of not upgrading to oneiric. Jon

I did also had this kind of problem the last few days... After reading these posts, I did an upgrade check today, but the installation failed. I run a "sudo apt-get install -f" and after that the upgrade. I got some errors during the upgrade, but after running a "sudo apt-get check" I get no errors, so I suppose everything is OK now...
Thanks a lot for the support.... 2011/11/11 jon piesing <[hidden email]>
