problem processing raw-pictures

Michael Eschweiler-2
Hi all,
I set up a new computer (opensuse 11.3, kde 4.5.1) and changed to digikam 1.4.
I processed some raw pictures from a Canon D40 and all seemed fine until I
tried to process one with a misty background. When I press F4 in order to
process it, part of the background is converted to black. I tried to process
this foto with my old computer (digikam 0.9.4) and there is no problem.
In order to see what I mean I stored the fotos at
http://fotos.web.de/michael.eschweiler/digikam
password is digikam
What can I do in order to get a correctly converted picture with digikam 1.4?
Thanks in advance!
Michael

I think you have a setting that shows or turns the over-exposed
highlights into black. Is it possible that that is not set in 0.9.4
while it is set in 1.4?

I just checked this: You are right, the clipping color will be transfered into the converted image (digikam 1.4). Bug or feature? I would call it a bug.

Bye

Hi,
as to say it in the words of the Iron Lady: "You are absolutely and terrible
right": the setting for over-exposure was set. I never used, so I didn't how
it works...
Thanks a lot,
Michael

So would I.
Except I've never, ever seen that happen. What will happen is that the same
zones that are clipped in the raw converter preview are clipped in the image
editor...as I would expect (hint: clipping indicators are set globally)

Remco

P.S. I do use version 1.4.0
