Hi,
either I still don't understand it ( quite possible ;-) ) or there is really something still missing: - opening a CR2-raw file (click on it in album view) - after loading the dialog "This picture has not assigned any color profile" appears and I could convert it to my workspace color profile. But (as far as I see it) this is quite useless, unless I can also define a input-profile, because a useable picture only gets produced whith an input *and* a workspace profile. So, what I do is, click "do nothing", and then Fix->Colors->Color Management... to assign the Input-profile. I guess, I've already asked this earlier, but shouldn't there be the option to add the input profile for files without embeded profiles earlier, i.e. in the dialog "This picture has not assigned..."? regards Daniel Gilles: I still havn't found where to set "set contrast and luminosity curve adjustment of target image". Can you give me a closer hint, please... -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Switzerland professional photography: http://www.daniel-bauer.com Madagascar special: http://www.sanic.ch _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Can you give me a closer hint, please... Daniel, A screenshot is more simple to understand than a long explaination in English : Look in Setup/Color management dialog : http://www.digikam.org/?q=node/184 ...there is a check box option in "behaviour" section named : "Launch Color Management plugin with RAW files" Set on this option and you will be happy to see the right plugin started in editor to apply ICC profiles on your RAW file : http://www.digikam.org/?q=node/181 ...where you can set the right camera profile and adjust contrast/luminosity Friendly Gilles _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I guess I need this (correct me, if I'm wrong, again), because I have the Tiff's in "wide gamut" but want to see them "corrected" to monitor-(s)rgb. But in the color management plugin preview, as far as I see it, the "color managed view" is not applied (the monitor profile is not taken into account), right? So I see the "wrong" wide-gamut in the preview, and then the "right" color managed view in the editor window only, right? (This is what I meant with my question in the other thread, where I asked why the preview looks different than the result that you get). Now, when choosing the input profile I have to guess in my brain how the picture finally will look, but my brain isn really capable for this (probably I still run a 286 internally). So the only way is to apply an input profile, look how it looks in the editor, discard the picture, re-load it, check the next profile... this is quite inconveniant. What do you think about it? regards Daniel -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Switzerland professional photography: http://www.daniel-bauer.com Madagascar special: http://www.sanic.ch _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Sorry for this late response Daniel, but i have hacked indeep Color Management on digiKam this week, and i have fixed a lot of dysfunctions with color management view feature. Now yo u will see the correct color on the screen using editor and all image editor plugins. The corrected source code is in svn and will be avaialble on next 0.9.0-RC2. If you use svn , just checkout the source code, compile it and try again.
