I'am back - with the same problem.
Yesterday I got roundabout 30 files down from my Casio Exilim Z9. Today not one... This (http://www.harald-schreiber.de/) I found - I think the download works here (yesterday)... so I got another problem... I am not sure what to do... Kernel 2.6.25 -gentoo-r7, digikam 0.9.4, xfce, external usb disk (320 GB) - what else do you need? Btw - digikam shows up a bit "oversized", so I have to move it around to get all pulldown menus. All other programs fit to my monitor. A problem of xfce? Or digikam? best regards -- Mit freundlichen Grüßen Uwe Haider [hidden email] http://www.familie-haider.de _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Digikam uses gphoto2 to communicate with the camera, i.e. it has no drivers itself. You could try the following commands on the command-line and report their output: a) connect camera, what is the output of dmesg (only the camera related part) b) gphoto2 -v c) gphoto2 --list-ports d) gphoto2 --auto-detect -L e) gphoto2 --abilities f) gphoto2 --list-folders and post the output here. Personally, I always use a card-reader to transfer the files to the destination directory and then start digikam. > Btw - digikam shows up a bit "oversized", so I have to move it around to > get all pulldown menus. Can't find the camera in the list http://gphoto.org/proj/libgphoto2/support.php You could try to ask in the #gphoto IRC channel (just put the above output into pastebin.com and point at the resulting URL) if it should work in principle (though the header says: "Gentoo problems -> #gentoo" ....) Sorry that I can't help more, but this really seems to be a gphoto issue rather than a digikam one ... Ok, something new happened:
Yesterday I wanted to download 30 Raw-Files from my Nikon D50. After 13 files the Battery was down, an error occured. So I took the SD-Card, putit in the reader and tried "Seeking medias" (or what is it in English?). I got the error "Ein Fehler ist aufgetreten" (An Error occurred). But copying the files with the filemanager was ok. The digikam-window fits yesterday to the screen without doing anything. I suppose, I startet an older kernel by mistake yesterday. The compilation of 2.6.25-gentoo-r7 seemed to be buggy. I lost the old kernel-configuration by mistake and had to make a new. Surely something was forgotten. So I will test this next evening. best regards Uwe Am Freitag, den 26.09.2008, 22:01 +0200 schrieb Uwe Haider: > Am Freitag, den 26.09.2008, 07:47 +0200 schrieb Arnd Baecker: > > > > ok, here is another test - this time the casio exilim: > > > > [...] > > > > > Today only errors with the casio, no download... > > > Nikon is ok, no errors. unbelievable!
The digikam-window doesn't fit again. All other windows do maximize to screen - they all fit. Even konqueror.. Only digikam is too wide, so I have to move it to the left to get the last two menus on the screen. I am using xfce with gentoo-2.6.25. Anyone any ideas? best regards Uwe Am Montag, den 29.09.2008, 06:30 +0200 schrieb Uwe Haider: > The digikam-window fits yesterday to the screen without doing anything. > I suppose, I startet an older kernel by mistake yesterday.
