Hello,
I don't know if this is a bug or a new feature in 5.8.0: When I click on an image in an album it opens editor (because I set it so). When I now in editor go to the next image ("next button" or page-down) once or several times and then close the editor, in the album still the image is selected which I had selected when starting. In earlier versions, when I went to other pictures in editor and then came back to the album, the last image shown in editor was selected in the album. This was very useful for me because I could continue in album from where I was last in editor without remembering the file name and scroll down in the album... Maybe others think different and this behavior was added as a feature? Or is it a bug I should report on the bugs list? kind regards Daniel -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Barcelona https://www.patreon.com/danielbauer http://www.daniel-bauer.com |
Hi, I don't checked yet, but if it's confirmed, it's just a regression, not a feature. Best Gilles 2018-02-16 11:13 GMT+01:00 Daniel Bauer <[hidden email]>: Hello, |

I had fixed this problem in digiKam-5.8.0. I can not reproduce it here either.
Is it possible that you are using an older 5.8.0 test AppImage? Maik Am Freitag, 16. Also, remember the weekly bundle builds available here, computed with current implementation : Gilles Caulier 2018-02-16 12:18 GMT+01:00 Maik Qualmann <[hidden email]>: I had fixed this problem in digiKam-5.8.0. I can not reproduce it here either. |

I know you'd love me to use appimage, but for some reasons (maybe
strange to you :-) ) I like to stay with the opensuse rpm's. But as the problem is known it's just a matter of time until it gets through to the opensuse rpm's and meanwhile I will live with it... Thanks for the fast answering, and while here I use the occasion to again say that digikam is fantastic software, better than anything similar on win, mac or linux. Thanks for your efforts! There are no problems when changing to the next the image In the Image Editor. The selected image changes in the album view. also. I have no idea why it should not work for you. Maik Am Freitag, 16. I tested here with 5.8 and 5.9 appimage and problem is not reproducible. Sqlite database is used with my collection. Perhaps it's relevant of amount of items are stored in albums. More than 100 for ex ? Here i use 20, 30 or 40 items by album, no more... Ok, I found the cause. You have setup the Image Editor on click of the image.
When opened via the right context menu, it works. I will fix it. Maik Am Freitag, 16. Ha! After Gilles mail I tested with some small directories (8 and 9
images), also with very small images, and after actualizing the album (f5). Same result. After your mail I went to settings and in "views" (Ansichten) selected "show preview" just to see what happens. I restarted digikam, but when I clicked on "editor" (Bildbearbeitung) I could not move to previous/next image... So I changed back to "open editor" in settings. And guess what: now when going to next image one or several times, *it works*. So, something happened when changing the settings... It also works in huge directories (590 images) and with large size png's (20 MB). Well, strange, but it works now :-) Am 16.02.2018 um 20:02 schrieb Maik Qualmann: > Ok, I found the cause. Oooo - it only works in one session :-( After restart of digikam the
problem is back. I tried two times and I can reproduce: - digikam settings "view" set to "open editor" - selected image in album does not change when going to next in editor - change settings to "show preview" important: - click on an image in preview and select from the menu "edit" (Bildbearbeitung") try to go to next/previous image with pg-up/dwn - change setting back to "open editor" - now selected image in album changes when going to next in editor - close digikam, start it again, the problem is back... To reproduce here it is important to do the two steps under "important". When, after changing to "show preview", I did /not/ click on an image and opened the editor via menu before changing back to "open editor", there is no effect (problem stays). But when I do it the problem goes away for the session, until I close digikam. Sorry for complicated description, but I hope it helps :-) Am 16.02.2018 um 20:21 schrieb Daniel Bauer: > Ha!
