new digikam.org page to explain shared libs...

Gilles Caulier-4
Hi all,

A new page is now available in digikam.org to give some explainations about libkipi, libkexiv2, and libkdcraw shared libraries. Look at this url:

http://www.digikam.org/sharedlibs

Comments are welcome...

best

Gilles Caulier

Some nitpicking - all IMO as not native speaker ;)

1.
"digiKam team has developed and maintain few shared libraries dedicated
to play with photograph."

digikam team has developed and maintains few shared libraries dedicated
to play with images.

maintain -> maintains - third person
photograph -> images  - you can manipulate not only photographs but also
all other pictures, at least should be "photographs" plural here sounds
better.

2.
"Kipi-plugins is an effort"

Kipi-plugins are an effort

is -> are  - plural

OR
Kipi-plugins project is an effort
(another way to solve plural/singular problem)

3.
X source code is hosted by KDE4 into kdegraphics component.

X source code is hosted by KDE4 in kdegraphics module.

into -> in  - into is dynamic, in is static
component -> module  - AFAIR 'module' is proper name for things like
kdelibs, kdebase and kdegrahics, they can contain components like khtml,
okular, etc.

4.
This Metadata interface follow this paper written by Metadata Working
Group.

this paper - lost link.
Directly to paper (if linking directly would be nice to show size: 1.7M)
http://www.metadataworkinggroup.org/pdf/mwg_guidance.pdf
Or indirect to page with download:
http://www.metadataworkinggroup.org/specs/

5.
With KDE4, all libraries have been moved to KDE core, into kdegraphics
component. These will be released automatically with KDE

With KDE4, all libraries have been moved into kdegraphics - core KDE
module. They will be released automatically with KDE.

component -> module
These -> They

HTH

m.
