migrating images from 0.8 (IPTC)

Harald Friessnegger
i updated from 0.8.2 to 0.9.0 the last days.
digikam really is a fantastic piece of software!

would be great to have all the old comments and ratings etc in ipct too.

currently you can only get your data into ipct by editing some of your
existing metadata.
http://mail.kde.org/pipermail/digikam-users/2006-December/002857.html
(which would mean touching every existing picture)

i (naivly) tried out "album | refresh" which seemed a good guess for me, but
this didn't update the metadata.

are there plans for a plugin that can write existing db-data to exif and
ipct (for mirgration content from digikam < 0.9) and the other way round
for importing images of other apps into digikam?

regards,
  fRiSi

yes. there is a file in B.K.O. A new batch tool (coded in digiKAm core, not
like a plugin) is planed. Look here :

http://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=130017
