Hello,
I am running digikam 1.7 and exiv2 0.21. When I am decoding a raw file in certain cases I am loosing the metadate from the Nikon .nef raw. This behavior is obviously related to the settings of the Color Management parameters in the "Raw import" window: My workspace settings is "Adobe RGB" consistent with the camera workspace; the default settings in the raw-import window for Camera Profile is "None" : in this case all metadata is lost in the new file during decoding. If I set "Camera Profile" to "Embedded" then the metadata are preserved during decoding ; also when I click on "Use Default" at the bottom of the window, metadata are preserved. Unfortunately every time when opening a new raw file with the editor the "Camera Profile" setting in "Color Management" is switched automatically to "None" again, which means that metadata get not transferred to the produced file. Is there a way to change the settings such that Camera Profile = "Embedded" is opened by default? Which are the Color Management settings when I click on "Use default" in the raw import window? Thanks for advice. Robert _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I can confirm this behaviour: no metadata are transferred to the decoded image when not using the 'use default' button. In itself losing the EXIF info wouldn't be all that much of a problem (although it worked correctly in previous versions of Digikam...), but it means that e.g. the automatic lens correction won't be able to use metadata (since they are not imported). I can reproduce the problem here.
I found the problem but it's not yet fixed. It's due to my last changes in RAW Import tool introduced by 1.7.0. Please open a file in Bugzilla about this subject, i will fix it. Gilles,
I filed a bug (# 263726 title: "Metadata lost when decoding a raw file) in bugzilla. This bug is fixed now in SVN. Thank you, Gilles, for fixing it so quickly. Is there any possibility of getting a new version (1.7.0?) out, so those that depend on distributions have a chance of getting the correction before 2.0? regards, Remco _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
