max. file size in digikam/gwenview?

Hi,

I have a 594.4 MB big png file. I does not open in gwenview and not in
digikam. digikam does not make a preview.

I can open the image in gimp.

Is there a maximum file-size in digikam? Can I change it somewhere?

in digiKam, no, exception by memory allocation to host image data.

When you said digiKam cannot open image, which error message you have
? What can you read in the console ?

ok, I opened digikam, changed to the folder where hte big image is and clicked on it (it showed "cannot open").
Here is what console said from start:

i think i got the same issue. I've running DigiKam 2.5 under Windows with the compiled version from Ananta Palani. The source i recieved from sourceforge.
I got tiff files with a couple of dozen MB. Does anybody know where to access the error logs from DK under Win XP?

It's regarding to the missing color profile. Deaktivating color management didn't solve it. The TIFFs had Fogra but it isn't in the profile list. I'm gonna check how to add profiles and give feedback later.

I think you need DebugView
http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/bb896647 but I am not
sure how to get DK output to show up there.

Run kdebugdialog from digiKam install path. It must be an executable
file. It show a dialog with all debug space to display in debugview.
Turn on digiKam, kipi, kdcraw, kexiv2 space, run debugview, and
digiKam...
