Primarily in database and there is option to store it as EXIF/IPTC/XMP comment field. m. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

No, i'm talking about label. Labels can be put by right click and selecting "create label" (or it is a "tag"? - I use a localized version). I try to put label (tag?) to image and made his copy - new file does not contain a label, so it stored not within file, but in digikam database. Where this database stored? -- wBR,George. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

For me it copies with tags (and comments and rationgs). Which version of digiKam are you using? m. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Don't remember if that was normal behavior - but I suspect it was. m. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I don't have digikam 0.9.x available anymore, but look in the preferences for options regarding EXIF and IPTC. There are checkboxes there that will allow you to store tags, comments and ratings with the image or not (as Exif or IPTC keywords). This will only work though for certain image formats. I know jpg works and tif doesn't for me. Which image types digikam can store metadata in, depends on the version of libexiv2 on your system. This is the library that handles the metadata insided your images. My current version of this library is 17.1. The most recent version is 18.1. For reference, http://dev.exiv2.org/wiki/exiv2/Supported_image_formats shows a list of supported image formats with the latest version if libexiv2.
