kipi-plugins 0.2.0-beta3 release for KDE4...

Gilles Caulier-4
Dear all digiKam fans and users!

The Kipi development team is happy to release the 3rd KDE4 beta
version of plugins for digiKam. The tarball can be downloaded from SourceForge at this url:

https://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=149779&package_id=165761

To compile this KDE4 version, you need libkexiv2, libkdcraw, and libkipi for KDE4. These libraries are now included in KDE core with kdegraphic component.

A new plugin have been added to batch convert RAW camera images to Adobe DNG container (see http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Digital_Negative_(file_format) for details). To be able to compile this plugin, you need last libkdcraw from svn trunk (will be released with KDE 4.2). To extract libraries source code from svn, look at bottom of this page for details :

http://www.digikam.org/drupal/download?q=download/svn

For others depencies, consult the README file. There are also optional depencies to enable some plugins as libxml2 for HTLMExport or OpenGL for SlideShow tool.

With this new release, Kipi-plugins is now compilable under Windows using MinGW and Microsoft Visual C++. Precompiled packages are available with KDE-Windows installer. See http://windows.kde.org/ for details.

NEW FEATURES:

General            : Port to CMake/KDE4/QT4.
General            : all plugins can be compiled natively under Microsoft Windows.
JPEGLossLess: XMP metadata support.
RAWConverter : XMP metadata support.
TimeAdjust      : XMP metadata support.
MetadataEdit   : XMP metadata support with EXIF, IPTC, and Comments editor to sync XMP tags.
MetadataEdit   : IPTC Editor dialog is more compliant with IPTC.org recommendations.
MetadataEdit   : IPTC Editor add the capability to set multiple values for a tag.
SendImages      : Complete re-write of emailing tool.
GPSSync           : New tool to edit GPS track list using googlemaps.
RAWConverter : Raw files are decoded in 16 bits color depth using same auto-gamma and auto-white methods provided by dcraw with 8 bits color depth RAW image decoding.
SlideShow          : Now filenames, captions and progress indicators can have transparent backgrounds with OpenGL SlideShow as well.
SlideShow          : Added thumbnails into image list.
SlideShow          : Now you can play your favourite music during slideshow.
DNGConverter  : New plugin to convert RAW camera image to Digital NeGative (DNG)

Kipi-plugins BUG FIXING from B.K.O (http://bugs.kde.org):

001 ==> 135451 : GPSSync            : Improve the gui of the gpssync plugin.

As I mentioned yesterday, compiling with libkdcraw from KDE 4.1.2 does not
work.

Building with libkdcraw from KDE 4.1.2 does indicate that it won't support
this plugin, but then tries to build and fails anyway.

Correct, libkdcraw (and libkexiv2) from kdegraphics-4.2.x (svn trunk atm) is
required.

Means I cannot test or work on this release on my server. A shame.
