Hello
I installed from a DVD distribution 32b version 4.10 LTS of Ubuntu. Then proceeded to install Digikam 1.2.0 KDE 4.4.2 platform. Comments and Questions: ! Digikam is installed in English ¡ ? Do I pay a license for the French version or ¿Español ? If not, how to install a French version or ¿Español Using translate.google.com, I am not responsible for the quality of the French translation in English. ! On the site Digikam is announced version 1.3 ¡ ? Should you be an expert in Linux or install ¿ ? Otherwise, is there a file that allows for simple installation ¿ A simple question, I hope to get simple answers. Thank you for your attention to your help. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
In Digikam menu : Help -> Switch application language.
You'll have to restart Digikam so the new language takes precedence over English. Merci Marie-Noëlle,
Je suis déjà passé par là et la seule langue qui m'est proposée est l'Anglais. Utilisant translate.google.com, je ne suis pas responsable de la qualité de la traduction Français en Anglais. Merci de votre attention de votre aide. 2010/6/13 Marie-Noëlle Augendre <[hidden email]> In Digikam menu : Help -> Switch application language. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
English being the language of the list, you'll have to use Google to translate my answer ;-)
I seem to remember is has something to do with the language pack for KDE. Install language-pack-kde-fr and see if it'll do the trick. Problem solved, but many messages are in English (menus, tips of the day) ... ? Where / How these oversights translation ¿ ? Is there a command / tool to change language pack ¿ Using translate.google.com, I am not responsible for the quality of the French translation in English. Some distributions install the *digikam-lang* package
separately, but I think Marie-Noëlle is right about *language-pack-kde-fr* package in Ubuntu. Always thought it would be installed automatically if the system was set up correctly for a specific language. Certaines distros demandent le *digikam-lang* paquette, pense que Marie-Noëlle a raison pour le *language-pack-kde-fr* de Ubuntu. J'ai toujours pensé que ces paquettes serait automatiqument installés si le systéme est réglé sur une langue primaire donnée (autre que le anglais), le francais en votre cas. pardon mon francais, Sveinn í Felli Þann sun 13.jún 2010 16:55, skrifaði Marie-Noëlle Augendre: > English being the language of the list, you'll have to use Google to > translate my answer ;-) > > I seem to remember is has something to do with the language pack for > KDE. Be sure to activate "System-->Administration-->Languages" in
your Ubuntu, set up your languages there. This pulls in almost all available translations in one go. I think the Digikam team is always adding new functionalities, and the french translator cannot keep up with them. I did propose to give her a hand, but she'd rather work on her own.

Digikam is ~97% translated to french in upstream KDE, but
only around 60% in Launchpad (for Ubuntu). Maybe some other .deb repository takes translation from upstream ?
