I am seeing the following error when starting Digikam from CLI:
QSqlDatabasePrivate::removeDatabase: connection 'ConnectionTest' is still in use, all queries will cease to work Searching about, the consensus seems to be to rebuild a new database. Any other ideas out there? _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
No. I think it's a warning from Qt4 library. It's not a digiKam...

I /think/ the system creates and destroys a test database to see if the DB part works correctly, but forgets to close a connection first. So all queries using /that/ /connection/ and database will stop working (it's not the Digikam database...) _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Thanks, yes I agree that the error string appears each time on an
otherwise working system, on SuSE 12.1 at least. In fact my digikam and database were OK. I was experimenting with file renaming, both using the rename tool (Image-Rename) and on Import. I tried importing a file that was already in an Album, from an SD card, with a new name created with a customized string in the File Renaming Options-Customize sidebar. The file did get imported to the Album with the new name, I could see i in Dolphin, but it would not show as a thumbnail in Album view I figured out that if I turned ON "Always show original images" in Settings-Configure Digikam-Editing Images, then I see them. So the database and versioning recognize that the same image by two different file names are related. I am finally getting organized a bit and seeking to rename my
pictures with their creation date. I have two questions/issues that
someone may have figured out.
1. I have been setting my camera to local time (UTC-5/4 - USA East Coast). The file times on the SD card are set to that time, but when I use [date:ISO] or a custom date format to rename the file, it treats the file date as UTC and subtracts 4 or 5 hr, depending on my computer setting of DaylightSavings. I see nothing in the Renaming Dialog to stop this, or to deal with Timezone in general. Am I missing something? 1.5 In a related issue, the image metadata appears to be in 24 hour format, but Digikam seems to want to work in AM/PM, which is the way I normally set time for the desktop. Is there a way to get Digikam to use 24 hour clock for naming, but leave the desktop set AM/PM? 2. I tried using [meta:Exif.Image.DateTimeOriginal]
as the date, but it appears to return a null string. The
DateTimeOriginal value is set in the EXIF Metadata, I can see it
in the side panel. Do I need to specify a format? How? Thanks _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Forget about issue 1.5, 24 hour format does seem to work.
I am not sure why I thought it did not. On 05/28/2012 01:41 PM, Carl McGrath wrote: I am finally getting organized a bit and seeking to rename my pictures with their creation date.
