Hi everyone,
This may be old news for all of you, but I've just found it this last weekend (many photos, I'm sure you understand)... Every time I plugged my camera into the computer, I had to either choose the newer pictures to download or, after downloading, I'd erase them all to avoid this problem the next time I plugged the camera in. This weekend I discovered the "Select New" option on the download dialog. It's brilliant! I'm sure it was easy to implement (by using digikam's internal database), it's robust (I've done a few tricks on it) and it's extremely useful for people with large memory cards that don't allways want to clear them when downloading! Great feature, Great software! Keep up :-) Best regards, -- Pedro João Lopes Venda email: pjvenda at pjvenda org http://www.pjvenda.org p.s.: I'm using the svn head version. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users attachment0 (196 bytes) Download Attachment |

I have a Canon Powershot A70 and when I connect to the camera some of the thumbnails are not in the correct order. The camera stores pictures in directories of 100 pictures each and the problem mainly seems to occur with the first picture in each directory, and also the first picture on the Compact Flash card. If I put the CF card in a card reader, mount it, and open it as a Mounted Camera in digikam I see the same problem. I guess that this is due to the actual order the pictures are stored on the card and the order the camera sends them to digikam. It would be really useful if digikam sorted the images in date order. Although I can use Select New Items to make sure I get all the new pictures, this is only really useful if I want to save them all to the same album. If I want to save the new pictures to 2 or more different albums them I have to search through the thumbnails to find the required pictures. Does this problem only occur with this camera - or all Canon cameras - or does it affect other makes of cameras? Screenshots showing the problem: http://www.magichamster.com/vmbu6.png http://www.magichamster.com/vmbu8.png Thanks.
