failed to update old database to new database format

Otto-4
Hello list  !

I just upgraded from digikam-0.7.4 to 0.8rc on my fc3 box using apt.
After the update I always get "failed to update old database to new database
format" when trying to start digikam.
Does anyone know about this problem ? It would not be a problem for me to use
the old database, as I did not enter any descriptions and I have all my
photos in a single folder with subdirs...
Help would be greatly welcome !

Best regards,

Otto Brandstaetter

Hi,

this is why it is a release candidate ;-)

Would you do us a huge favor and send the digikam.db to my personal email
address?

This is very serious and I can already tell that this will be a show stopper
(as in we should not release digikam without this being resolved).

Tom

Hi Tom,
I have just upgraded from Ubuntu Breezy to Ubuntu LTS 6.06 and obviously
the DigiKam release has been upgraded too, I am now getting the message:
"failed to update old Database to new Database format"
What was the solution to this problem,
Thanks in advance
Bob Inglis
