Hello,
Using digikam appimage 5.6.0 I now miss in the menu "Export > Export to remote storage". The "Remote Storage" plugin is selected in the "Main Interface Plugin Settings". I did use this very very often in previous versions ... (so please don't kill it, workarounds would be awful to handle if one works with loads of images). Maybe I did miss a new way to save images to 1) other parts of the local file system 2) sftp them 3) webdav storage If there is such new way to do this, please enlighten me. Best wishes, Hella -- [hidden email] http://www.unixwitch.de |
the export to remote storage tool depend fully of KIO API which have a huge run time dependencies. This cannot be bundled in AppImage. The goal in the future is to port this tool as pure Qt5, whitout KIO, to solve this problem. Gilles Caulier 2017-04-29 17:34 GMT+02:00 Hella Breitkopf <[hidden email]>: Hello, |

Still using digiKam 5.5.0, I also will be heavily impacted by a lack of
"export to remote storage". I need this feature to export selected photos to: - USB stick for printing - export to a home server - burning CD/DVD Is there a workaround? Or use Drag and drop between file manager and digiKam.

Thank you, this workaround works.
I am looking forward to seeing the feature "export to remote storage" again (which is still present with digikam 5.5.0). This action does not work for me:
- select photos in the thumbnail view (which reside in different folders) - context menu "copy" - operating system file manager: context menu "paste" Only one image is copied, although multiple images where selected. What works is dragging selected images to a folder of the operating system file manager. The disadvantage is, that you have to leave the full scree mode of digikam. Can you try pressing alt+tab while dragging pictures? -------- Original message -------- From: Matthias Albert <[hidden email]> Date: 2017-05-01 5:01 AM (GMT-07:00) To: [hidden email] Subject: Re: export to remote storage not shown in menu (digikam appimage 5.6.0)-- workaround ?? - select photos in the thumbnail view (which reside in different folders) - context menu "copy" - operating system file manager: context menu "paste" Only one image is copied, although multiple images where selected. Yes, by pressing alt-tab while dragging in full-screen mode I can drop
the pictures in a previously opened file manager folder. This is a workaround for digikam 5.6.0. An export to remote storage is still needed. Thank you. Matthias Am 01.05.2017 um 14:09 schrieb Andrey Goreev: > Can you try pressing alt+tab while dragging pictures? > > |
A BQM export to remote place is planed and a report already exist in
bugzilla about this topic. But for the moment, nothing have be done about. The export tool will be pure Qt5 based. No KIO, because it's not portable. So the network access will be limited. As i know, Qt include FTP and SFTP de facto, but this can be extended. I hope that Qt 5.8.x will include more network backends.
