export to flickr won't work

Dr. Martin Senftleben
Hi,

when trying to upüload to flickr, I get always the message "invalid
signature". What does that mean? Not a single photo can be uploaded.

Kind regards

Martin

Re: export to flickr won't work

Hi

just imported more than 20 pictures, but got the error for some of them

so I suppose this is coming from the pictures, but do someone knows why
a picture could impact the upload to Flickr ?

thanks for helping

regards

those which succeeded were bigger (around 3 to 4M)

If you guys start digikam 5 from a terminal/shell and try to export to Flickr you might get some information in the terminal about what's going wrong to help with troubleshooting.

Just a though...

Renaming collctions

Is there any easy way to rename some of my collections. Currently a
couple have a name of the full path rather than what I want them to be
called?

Yes, I find that also strange, because it should work. I have tried it
now several days again and again, reconnecting (or establishing a new
authentication), yet always the same response (console output the same
as below). For me, this would mean that the flickruploader doesn't do
its job right (even though it works for some people). I can upload
pictures without any problems from the website, but I find that awkward
and it was a really nice feature I've been using with digikam for many
years.

BTW, I'm now at version 5.3.0 of digikam.

...and i just tried it again with AppImage 5.3.0 from my hist computer in France, and it work.

I suspect that front Flickr computer are not the same, depending of origin country where tool is used, with different side effect due to software difference on the servers.

Martin upload you images from Germany? Because of their E-Mail address. I have
uploaded 20 images from Germany, without problems. Very strange that some
users have this error.

Re: export to flickr won't work

Philip Johnsson
I also just tried to upload to Flickr to see if it could be something with my build and/or packages on Ubuntu but I don't either have any problem to upload pictures to Flickr from Sweden. Strange if it depends on where in the world you upload from.
