Hello,
I was trying to set local environment for local testing using readme.local file. But when using the following command: KDESYCOCA="/var/tmp/kde-$USER/ksycoca4" kbuildsycoca4

I get the foll. error:
kbuildsycoca4 running...
kbuildsycoca4(3773) KConfigGroup::readXdgListEntry: List entry MimeType in "plasma-wallpaper-image.desktop" is not compliant with XDG standard (missing trailing semicolon).
kbuildsycoca4(3773) KConfigGroup::readXdgListEntry: List entry Categories in "/usr/share/applications/im-switch.desktop" is not compliant with XDG standard (missing trailing semicolon).

I tried searching on net and found many similar question asked by many people but no answer was provided. So can anybody help

I already seen this error message. It's due to bad registration of data written in shared .desktop files.

I already fixed some desktop files from digiKam in the past.

But in your case, i think you can ignore these errors, if env start properly, else, this want mean that your KDE need to be updated. I sure that .desktop file have been fixed.

Have you tried, as the message suggest it, to append a semicolon where
it is missing (in both those files)? Also, are you sure the command
failed? I mean, when you execute your local digiKam, is it missing
some plugins?

Best,
