Hi,
Question 1. If I configure digikam to write all metadata in image files, can I delete digikam4.db and rebuild it without any loss ? If it is not the case, what kind of info digikam4.db store which is not in the images files ? Question 2. I see my images directory from /path/to/dir on my Mac, with digikam4.db staying here. From my Ubuntu VM, I see (via a shared folder) the same images directory from /path2/to/dir. If I use digikam on the Mac, there is in digikam4.db the information of the path "/path/to/dir" so I can't use this digikam4.db file from my Ubuntu VM which don't see the directory at the same place. I know, I can tweak the file with a sqlite editor, but is there another tip to use the same file under two digikam instance with a different path to the images directory ??? Thanks a lot... -- -- G Yet another no work time e-identity mailto:[hidden email] web : http://g.is.free.fr _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
Hi,
I´m interested in an answer to question 1 also. I ask this myself since I started using digiKam. I´m not sure if my answer to Question 2 appeals to you. But I also wanted to use digiKam from several Computers and store all Information on my NAS. I did this by switching from the SQLite DB to MySQL. Fortunately I have a MySQL Server running on my NAS, so this is the most flexible solution for me now. Placing a DB file on a shared drive is a bit dangerous. If the file is not locked when user A accesses it you might end up with a corrupted Database when user B accesses the same DB file and makes changes to it. Kind regards! _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |
