Hello digikam,
I would prefer if digikam could use smaller fonts or icons to reduce need of scrolling e.g. in the "Meine Albenliste", "Meine Stichwortliste" ... in the left sidebar and the same with "Meine Stichwortliste" in the right sidebar. I think that there is no general KDE desktop-UI-setting/switch for that purpose. What do others think about that feature beeing more space-efficient? You can set the icon size in Settings->Album Settings->Sidebar thumbnail
size Andi Christian Lorch wrote: > Hello digikam, > > I would prefer if digikam could use smaller fonts or icons to reduce need > of scrolling e.g. in the "Meine Albenliste", "Meine Stichwortliste" ... in > the left sidebar and the same with "Meine Stichwortliste" in the right > sidebar. > > I think that there is no general KDE desktop-UI-setting/switch for that > purpose. > > What do others think about that feature beeing more space-efficient? > > Greetings, > > Christian _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

"Meine Albenliste" = "My albums" (I dont have a english digikam running here at the moment, found it on a screenshot of digikam 0.9.3 / 0.9.4 beta 5) "Meine Stichwortliste" = could by "My Tags" (the short words you can assign the pictures) I hope its clear now! Maybe there is more possible to make it smaller without breaking the general KDE-UI-guidelines :-) Thanks! What guidelines? You can change the icon size in every KDE application if
you like. Andi Christian Lorch wrote: > Andi Clemens wrote: > >> You can set the icon size in Settings->Album Settings->Sidebar thumbnail >> size > > ok, that was a very good hint! OK, was not easy to understand correctly :-) I meant: your hint is great maybe digikam could be optimized in a general way to be less space-consuming on the screen (for example the place where the fotos are shown in the center of digikam: if all photos in a row a wide/ horizontal the next row could start earlier; the big blue bar with title of album and time ... could be smaller, etc. Next point: I like it very much that all applications under KDE fit together and not like other programs (mostly software for scanners, burning CD, photo-software, ... running under Windows) showing their own "very cool" style / toolkit. I hope that k3b and digikam stay clear in that way. I hope its more understandable now? This is made very clear in the last paragraph of https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=121372#c2 For example, in my case, I have reasonably small fonts for digikam, but it seems that these were also used for korganizer, where the are too small. Fortunately, there the font size can be easily adjusted.... This is partially issue of translation. English is very concise language. Literal translation into another language may take much more space. For example I am not sure if suffix "liste" is really necessary in those strings - aber meine Deutschkentnisse is sehr schlecht;) m. _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

Intentionally I meant that the part of digikam below the different "...liste" is to space-consuming.
