digikam re-generates thumbnails for images in the internal trash

AndriusWild
Hello,

I have noticed that digikam re-generates thumbnails for images in the internal trash.

Terminal output looks like this:

digikam.database: No itemShortInfo could be retrieved from the database for image "20161226_151504_369-5926b2e3.DNG"
digikam.general: Trying to load Embedded preview with libraw
digikam.rawengine: Preview data size: 2403363
digikam.rawengine: Using embedded RAW preview extraction
digikam.database: No itemShortInfo could be retrieved from the database for image "20161226_151504_369-5926b2e3.DNG"
digikam.metaengine: Orientation => Exif.Image.Orientation =>  1

Is this a normal behaviour? Could it be improved via using the thumbnails that already have been generated ?

Best regards,
Andrey

Hi,

No, because trash do not use the thumbnails database. In fact trash is an hidden directory with files and a metadata sidecar with original directory to know how to restore files. There is no link with database.
