digikam.org : Webmaster wanted...

Gilles Caulier-4
Hi all,

The digikam.org web site is hosted by KDE server infrastructure.
KDE admin send me few month ago the necessity to migrate digiKam.org web site from Drupal 6 to Drupal 7 for security reasons.

The migration is technicaly done here by KDE admin :

... using a new Drupal theme, but of course whole design need to be adjusted and contents/ergonomy simplified/polished.

So, a webmaster is wanted for this task. As developer are mosre focues on application implementation, web site maintenance can be delegate to users. The knowledgment for this task is design, CSS/HTML5, and Drupal.

It's not technically a difficult job. The CMS is enough to handle contents. Just a customization and design work need to be processed around the web site.

Anybody can be interested to work on digiKam project as webmaster ?

Thanks in advance

I might be able to help depending on how much time that task would require.
I have some experience with CMS but I have no idea what Drupal is.
CSS/HTML5  I can figure out if no heavy scripting required.

Drupal is one of the most used CMS over the world. It very well documented :

Drupal is already install and configured with the new theme. Older one is deprecated, this is why we need a new one.

The theme must be customized and the site design polished.

I would like to see something like Kdevelop (just an idea) :

A simple menu, an simple presentation in a dedicated page, a front page with the last news about the project (as current digiKam.org).

The design must be with a dark color theme everywhere. This is why CSS need to be adjusted. The current layout of column need to be improved too : if you look well the devel digiKam.org page with Drupal 7 there is a problem to read contents...
