Hello,
As I use digikam on a netbook, it's pretty ressource intensive, mostly for the disk. is there a way to ask digikam NOT to scan (for meta or thumbnails) some images (for example RAW/NEF or above a fixed size like 5MB - panoramic) ? And also, sometimes, I didn't ask anything and digikam starts to consume a lot of I/O. a way to know if it is "normal" ? could some operations be "ionice-ed" ? Thanks. Best regards, Julien note: I already unchecked "don't look for new elements on starting" _______________________________________________ Digikam-users mailing list [hidden email] https://mail.kde.org/mailman/listinfo/digikam-users |

I don't know if it could be the same thing, but in the past, I already get some Digikam "half-freeze" due to a 100% CPU-I/O use...
But, as I not ever test the beta 2.0. I can just says it was happening when I set a lot of RAW image's metadatas (wrote in the file), some times it could occur after changing the rate of a picture immediately after setting this rate a first time. But this behaviour was quite rare. ----- Mail d'origine ----- De: Gilles Caulier <[hidden email]> À: digiKam - Home Manage your photographs as a professional with the power of open source <[hidden email]> Envoyé: Fri, 1 Apr 2011 09:45:57 +0200 (CEST) Objet: [Digikam-users] Re: digikam & disk I/O on netbook How memory you have on your netbook ?
