Bug ID: 379081 Summary: GPS data are in file but geolocation indicator is not shown and map view empty Product: digikam Version: 5.5.0 Platform: MS Windows OS: MS Windows Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: AlbumsView Assignee: [hidden email] Reporter: [hidden email] Target Milestone: --- Created attachment 105149 --> https://bugs.kde.org/attachment.cgi?id=105149&action=edit Screenshot showing GPS data in a picture but geolocation indicator missing I have a lot of files with GPS data but DigiKam does not show the geolocation indicator in album view (it's activated in the configaration settings) and those picture are not shown in the map view. Please refer to attached screenshot which appears to indicate that DigiKam did read the GPS data but is not able to "work" with them. This problem appears to be a "binary" one: it happens either with all the pictures in a specific subdirectory or with none. I haven't yet seen it happening only with some files in a subdirectory and not with others in the same subdirectory. Thanks for your support! --- Comment #2 from [hidden email] --- Sure, no problem besides the size of the file (6 MB). I had to upload it into my Dropbox. Please download it from https://www.dropbox.com/s/uik5fyf26guwm7f/IMG_1502_3_4.jpg?dl=0 and let me know if that worked. --- Comment #4 from [hidden email] --- Can you test with 5.6.0 pre-release installer for Windows : https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/0BzeiVr-byqt5Y0tIRWVWelRJenM Note : You need to force digiKam to re-scan image metadata. Select your image frim icon view, go to "Captions" tab from right side bar, "More" button, and use right option from menu. --- Comment #5 from [hidden email] --- Quite interesting ...;-)) This Captions/More/Read metadata... process does also work in v5.5, no need to install v5.6. I now see the geolocation indicator and the map view shows the location of the picture. But if I use the menubar Item/Reread metadata... process (which I used to use when trying to came up with a solution to the problem), nothing happens. I now tried the Captions/More/Read metadata... process for all files in that very subdirectory (no file had had shown the geolocation indicator) and everything looks good now. So obviously the Captions/... and the menubar Item/... processes use two different pieces of program code? Ulrich -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug. |
