Summary: File Renaming Options sidebar is missing
           Product: digikam
           Version: 5.1.0
          Platform: Ubuntu Packages
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: Import-Rename
          Assignee: [hidden email]
          Reporter: [hidden email]
  Target Milestone: ---

The File Renaming Options sidebar is missing on Digikam5.

Build 4:5.1.0-wily~ppa1 on Ubuntu 15.10 x64

No problem using digiKam AppImage bundle for Linux.

Try with current development version available here :

The Digikam (5.3) AppImage bundle works, and after upgrading to Ubuntu 16.10
x64 - as I couldn't install v5.3 in Ubuntu 15.10 due to dependency problems -
4:5.3.0-yakkety~ppa2 is also fine.

I'm running Digikam 5.4 (build 4:5.4.0-0ubuntu3, the distribution's version)
with Ubuntu 17.04 x64 (upgrade) and the problem has returned.

Only the GeoLocations sidebar is shown - can I get the Settings sidebar to
display on the Import window with this version?

The tab view exists but are reduced to the minimum due to lack of icon on your
system.

Use Universal Linux AppImage instead. Current pre-version 5.6.0 is available
here :

Thanks for the advice.

I tested  the AppImage version 5.50, and installed the repo version 5.4 on an
Ubuntu 17.04 LiveCD. On both versions the tabs and icons are visible but very
small, due to high retina screen resolution.

The icon which has the focus displays the text; the others shrink to display
only the icons.

On my Ubuntu 17.04, mousing carefully over the icon location on repo version
5.40 shows that the tabs are there, but tiny and lacking icons. I can still
click on them, and with focus the text label appears.

Is it possible to add the missing icons to my 5.40 installation, and/or prevent
the tabs from shrinking to hide the text labels?

Look in Setup dialog, Misc options. There is one entry to configure the sidebar
tab behavior
