I rate my raw photos with stars or label them with flags after importing, so
afterwards I filter them by 1-star or by a red flag to delete the bad ones.
digiKam freezes for 1-3 seconds after I rate an image while in preview mode. If
I try moving forward to the next image, then the focus box/highlight selection
box or whatever its called might move to the next one, or it might remain on
the current one. After a second or three the thumbnail of the image I just
rated gets updated. Why? If you try quickly rating over 200 shots then these
little delays become a problem. Rating a photo doesn't change the image in any
way, it's just a metadata operation, so it would be nice if this change was
instant. Maybe the regenerated thumbnail is the clue as to why it's slow -
digiKam should not need to do that as the thumb didn't change, just the rating
or label did.
