If I try to slide the pane sliders left or right they don't appear to move, but
digikam freezes with even the mouse pointer stuck in the pane-sliding mode.



Reproducible: Always




I can unfreeze it usually by hitting cntrl-alt del and then hitting escape back
to the desktop. After unfreezing the pane has resized to the point where the
mouse click was released, so it is  a pain to resize the pane, but possible.

Windows is Windows 7.
