digikam 4.4.0 debian package not working

Hi,
I've still like using digikam, I am on Debian, the digikam version is
4.4.0, using panasonic DMC-FZ1000
Outage, new album, add folder, add picture is totally frozen.
Imposible to create new album with FZ1000 conected thru usb

Is there solution ?

Is Debian version very old ?

use AppImage Linux universal Bundle. Look in download page from digiKam.org...

I am using digikam 4.4.0 on Debian Jessie, too. I import pictures via
usb-sdcard-reader. This works very well.

Hi,

no, I meant: I don't plug the camera (include the sd card) via usb in my pc, but
remove the sd card from the camera. The sd card is then inserted in a separate
hardware device (kind of "sd card to usb"-adapter, see
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Memory_card_reader) and the card reader is
attached to may pc. Digikam can read from such a device, too.

Hi everyone,
I don't know how to answer. Well, I was at the origin of this topic,
I've reinstall Debian 4.4.0 and now Digikam work very well. I had
install Debian with all desktops like gnome, cinnamon, Xfce, etc...
should be for that reason that I had unstable system and Digikam not
working. Now everything is perfect. Thanks for your good job. Forgive my
poor english, not my lenguage. Francis

I would use the latest stable appimage instead otherwise if there is any issue you are on your own.
