digikam 2 - edit photos - save as...

Hi,

I have just downloaded version 2 64bit, running under LinuxMint 11, and
try to get acquainted with it. I use the German version, so it may be
that I translate items the wrong way.
I always used the "save as" option when I had changed the images, but
now I don't find this option any more. The toolbar doesn't show it, but
when I edit the toolbar, it's actually there. The option is also not
available in the menu file.
I found the "save a new version", but here I can't set the file type (I
would like my altered images to be saved as png and not jpg), it seems.
The documentation is not available under help/manual.

Thanks for any suggestions

Martin

Use "Export".

Hi Martin,

You can configure Digikam to always save your edited files as .png.
(I'm using portuguese version, so the translations can be not accurate)

Go to Digikam configurations menu, at "Image Editing" section, set "Save Images as" option to .png.

Now you can just use "Save a new version" button without any adjust.

Cheers
