digikam 1.1.0. installed with KDE windows 4.4. crashes when saving images to jpg or png files

JUANGAL@iies.es
I´ve installed digikam 1.1.0. with KDE windows 4.4. on my PC (win XP SP3)
I´ve noticed digikam crashes when saving images to jpg or png files. Saving to tif files is ok, though lossing EXIF values
Has any this problem?

I didn't see any crashes but rotating jpg pictures made them
unreadable. Perhaps related?

this is problably KDirWatch problem (KDElibs bug). update to KDE 4.4.1

This is another one, relevant of libjpeg version 8 which break
compatibility with libjpeg code version 6 included in digiKam core
used to process JPEGG loss less operation. Same problem have been
reported to Gwenview. It's valid too for Linux. Fixed by Marcel in
current implementation from svn (next digiKam 1.2.0)

? I am not sure, but there shouldn't be a libjpeg 8 version under
windows? Or is there a libjpeg 8 somewhere in digikam code?

In digikam core and kipi-plugins/jpeglossless, there is transup code
coming from libjpeg. This code is not shared by libjpeg library (yes
it's the real problem here), and each application need to dupplicates
it. Now, you can imagine if different libjpeg  version are in system
core against digikam/kipi libjpeg version...

If I understand you right jpeg rotation with Digikam 1.1.0 under Linux
is broken to? Is the jpeg rotating while importing also broken? Do
kipi-plugins and Gwenview also has this bug?

For Gwenview yes, there is bug report. For kipi-plugins, i'm not sure.
But digiKam has this but report too. So, as i maintain JPEGLossLess
plugin, it's the same (:=))

Tried digiKam 1.1 with KDE on Windows 4.4.1 (MSVC), in my case digiKam
still crashes while trying to save to JPEG ou PNG or PGF, etc.

TIFF is ok.

Will it be fixed for KDE 4.4.2 ?

Re: digikam 1.1.0. installed with KDE windows 4.4. crashes when saving images to jpg or png files

Hi,

this is to confirm that I see exactly the same behaviour with KDE 4.4.0 installed in my laptop with windows xp sp3.

Tiff is ok. Jpeg and png crashes. It says a problem with ntdll.dll
