[digiKam-users] spell checker

jdd@dodin.org
Hello,

I use Digikam for years... I just now use my confinement spare time to
comment my documents, for example there

http://dodin.org/piwigo/picture.php?/150130-p20070309_085831_30614/category/7895&metadata

done in Digikam, in the box "legend" ("légende", en français). Alas in
this box, the usual spell checker available everywhere in linux is not here

could it be possible to have it?

Digikam 6.3.0 (appimage)

thanks
jdd

Re: spell checker

Gilles Caulier-4
Hi,

While transition from DK 4 to 5 i ported the code to pure Qt5 at 80%.
Speel checker is a functionality provided in KTextEdit API from KDE
and now i use QTextEdit instead which do not have this feature yet.

When Qt API will provide this feature by default, speel checker will be back.

The problem is the high level of dependencies used with spell check
with all data from language dictionarie. Introducing this feature in
bundle will explode container size.

Voilà for the explanations.

My best and take a care

Gilles Caulier
