Hello
I would like to use digikam with a mysql database on mac os x 10.13.4. Is it possible? Which packages should you install on mac? Is there a procedure? thank you for your reply [hidden email] |
Hi, Q: 1/ did you use a stand alone mysql DB running on mac ? 2/ Or do you want to access to a remote mysql DB running on a server, but with a digiKam running on mac ? 3/ Or do you want to use a local mysql DB for digiKam ? For this last one, you have nothing to do as local Mysql DB server is already included in digiKam PKG installer. These points are completely different. Anyway installing mysql on mac must be done with macport : Best Gilles Caulier 2018-05-14 17:19 GMT+02:00 guy <[hidden email]>: Hello |
Hello
> 2/ Or do you want to access to a remote mysql DB running on a server, but with a digiKam running on mac ? > 3/ Or do you want to use a local mysql DB for digiKam ? In English please... (:=)))... Typically, in PKG, all is already in place. Qt is compiled with mysql support and mysql run time is included. You have nothing to install, excepted digiKam of course. Go to setup database and choose mysql internal instead sqlite. Setup the path from your collection and where to store the database files. Note : i recommend to use 6.0.0 pre-release PKG installer which is now compile on my Macbook pro with MacOS 10.13. This one will run better than offcial DK 5.9.0 PKG installer. Look file here : Gilles Caulier 2018-05-14 19:53 GMT+02:00 guy <[hidden email]>: Hello |
Hello
Disappointed to solicit you again. I just installed digikam with the package indicated (ver 6.0.0) but I have a first message. The installation does not find the files you want and I can not find mac OS-specific packages if I go to the download site. If I do next I have the following other error messages: It seems that files are missing, the installation is not done automatically. Thanks for your help. hi
If that can help you: iMacGuy:opt Isis$ ./digikam/lib/mariadb/bin/mysql_install_db --datadir=/Photos/.mysql.digikam/db_data, --defaults-file=/Users/Isis/Library/Application\ Support/digikam/digikam/mysql.conf Could not open required defaults file: /Users/Isis/Library/Application Fatal error in defaults handling. Program aborted FATAL ERROR: Could not find /opt/digikam/share/mariadb/fill_help_tables.sql If you compiled from source, you need to run 'make install' to copy the software into the correct location ready for operation. If you are using a binary release, you must either be at the top level of the extracted archive, or pass the --basedir option pointing to that location. The latest information about mysql_install_db is available at https://mariadb.com/kb/en/installing-system-tables-mysql_install_db Guy Audebert > Le 17 mai 2018 à 17:49, Gilles Caulier <[hidden email]> a écrit : > > New PKG version uploaded. Hum... Did you try with digiKam-6.0.0-git-20180517T184634-MacOS-x86-64.pkg ? Here mysql binaries are found... Gilles 2018-05-17 18:56 GMT+02:00 guy <[hidden email]>: hi |
Sorry I did not understand everything. Do I have to find mysql binaries on flickr?
The flickr link brings me back this. Guy Audebert Le 17 mai 2018 à 19:11, Gilles Caulier <[hidden email]> a écrit : |

Hi
I'm using the package digiKam-6.0.0-git-20180517T184634-MacOS-x86-64.pkg but I still have this error message at launch. If I override the error messages and try to impose the path, which you seem to want to indicate from the screenshot on Flickr, I get the same error message again.
