[digiKam-users] multi-user environment

chris
Dear List

I am aware that Digikam is not (yet) fully supporting
multi-user-environments. But in bug #322946 the last comment by user
T.D. from 2017 seems quite positive.

Encouraged by his positive comment I'd like to try setting up digikam
for using it in our small company (9 users, rarely accessing photos at
the same time, and if so, very rarely the same photos).

Now I am wondering

1. if others have tried such a setup with multiple users since 2017 and
the overall-experience is similarly positive as described by T.D. in bug
#322946

2. if it is advisable to create a separate Database-user-account for
each user, or if that doesn't matter at all (photo-collection and
corresponding Maria-DB are on a synology network-share).

Best regards
chris

Hallo Christof,

you are not the only one hoping for such a feature, see [digiKam-users] Multi-user digiKam setup?
