[digiKam-users] how to rename wrong face tags

Johannes Kapune-3
Dear all,

I use 7.2.0-beta1
I use mysql dtabase on server.

We combine some different collections of picuteres to one single server.
We find out that everyone used different names for faces, for example:

a)  John Doe
b) Doe, John
c) John Doe, born as Smith

We plan to rename all faces of one person to a only one single name, but how to do this?

We tried to "move" the describtions but after this the face tags are lost.

Maybe there is a possible "rename" by manupulating the databse directly - but how?

Thanks for every hint.

regards
Johannes

This is very easy with the "merge" function. If you want to keep "John Doe"
then drag and drop "Doe, John" to "John Doe" and select "merge". Face tags are
adjusted accordingly.
