Hi :-)
Since a few days, when I want to check geolocation of a photo, google says that it doesn't love digikam anymore: "maps cannot be loaded correctly on this site". And then it shows the map perfectly but with a watermark "For development purposes only". There has been no update of my digikam (5.9, suse-rpm) but obviously google has some crisis with digikam, hopefully it does not lead to a divorce :-) What could that mean? -- Daniel Bauer photographer Basel Málaga https://www.patreon.com/danielbauer http://www.daniel-bauer.com maps.jpg (126K) Download Attachment |
Hi, From France, using DK 6.0.0 beta, no problem here with Google Maps. Cheer Gilles Caulier 2018-09-24 20:41 GMT+02:00 Daniel Bauer <[hidden email]>: Hi :-) |
Google Maps now requires a registration and API key when using the service. DigiKam-5.9.0 does not yet contain this API key. There was a transition period for older programs that has now expired. DigiKam-6.0.0 is registered and sends an API key to Google, so it works with this version. We use a free account and we will see if the maximum allowed map retrieval per day will be sufficient for all digiKam users worldwide. Maik Am Di., 25. (for several personal reasons I prefer to use those, even if I don't have the latest dk all the time) Let me again express my gratefulness for this fantastic application which is the most used in my daily work. You may only need to exchange one file so that digiKam-5.9.0 can work with
Google Maps again. I'll check it tonight if it works. Maik Am Dienstag, 25. Replace backend-googlemaps.html under /usr/share/digikam/geoiface/ with this
appendix. Then Google Maps also works with digiKam-5.9.0 again. Maik Am Dienstag, 25. Hi,
What is the path for the update on Windows? Iñigo. |
The path for a 64 bit Windows is:
C:\Program Files\digiKam\data\digikam\geoiface The "Program Files" can also be displayed as "Programme" in the File Explorer in German, for example. Maik Am Mittwoch, 26. September 2018, 09:54:34 CEST schrieb Iñigo: > Hi, > > > What is the path for the update on Windows? > > > Iñigo. |

Thanks Maik for the fix. It works flawless in DK 5.9 on Manjaro 17.03
