OpenCV > 3.x is not yet supported.

Only OpenCV 3.x is supported. There is no plan to port all code to openCV 4 for the moment.

Opencv 4.0.0-4 is now in Arch Linux testing
They compiled digikam 5.9 with opencv 4 !!!

Otherwise, I compiled digikam git r41326 successfully with opencv 3.4.4-1 :)

Perhaps digiKam 5.9.0 compile fine with OpenCV 4 (by chance), but 6.0.0 include new OpenCV code which have not yet been tested...
