I searched the forum but did not get a definitive answer. Pardon me for a
slightly longer post.
Describing my workflow below.
01. Import the RAW (Pentax DNG format and Sony ARW format) images in
digiKam.
02. Tag them with a hierarchy of tags.
03. One of the tags is "To be Edited" for the images for which I want to do
post processing.
04. I use RawTherapee to open the images tagged with "To be Edited", do a
bit of corrections and then send the images to Gimp for further processing.
05. I save the images in tiff format once the editing is done.
06. Change the 'To be Edited" tag to "Edited".
While I can achieve this in a roundabout way, would like to know if there is
a more efficient workflow. Specifically my queries are:
01. How do I transfer the digiKam tags to RawTherapee? RawTherapee seems to
ignore them though ExifTool can see them.
02. Right now I copy the RAW image to be post processed to a different
folder which is "Being Edited" catalog in digiKam do the post processing and
store the tiff files in a different folder which is "Edited TIF" catalog in
digiKam.
03. Tediously copy the tags from the RAW image to the edited tiff file, then
change the "To be Edited" tag of the RAW file to "Edited" and move these
files to other catalogs in digiKam which are on my external drive.
Quite a tedious process! Would appreciate any tips on streamlining this
process.
