Running on a Windows 10 system. Digikam-6.4.0
So in the Configure window I selected Collections and then used Add Collection. I then selected the required library and all appears to be good. The library appears with a library icon with a plus on it, and the correct full library name appeared on the right. I then clicked OK. A pop-up window appeared almost straight away "It was not possible to add a collection for the following path" and then the path I had just requested. The library I was attempting to add was "C:\Users\Ian McCarthy\Pictures" does the space in the name matter? Other names with spaces in appear to work. Afterwards if I go back to add collections the local name has appeared and its file name is "F:\Users\Ian McCarthy\Pictures" I discovered that the library was read only so I altered that but this made no difference. Any idea's what I'm doing wrong? -- Cheers Ian Mac |
DigiKam changed your drive from C: to F: because both drives have the same
UUID and now selected the wrong drive. Reformatting one of the two drives would be one solution. It is better to add the collection as a network collection. In the case of a network collection, only the path for identification is used. Maik Am Sonntag, 5. April 2020, 11:48:25 CEST schrieb Ian McCarthy: > Running on a Windows 10 system. Thank you for that Maik,
I added the offending folders as network collections and that has worked. As a note, it may have been more useful, as the software must have spotted the problem, if it had said something like duplicate UUID in the error message. A second note, I'm not sure just how its getting the UUID wrong, as when I look F: is Bus No. 0 Target ID 0 Lun 0 with a GUID :3D6C5FC1 C: is Bus No. 3 Target ID 0 Lun 0 with a GUID :081907A4 -- Cheers Ian Mac On 05/04/2020 10:56, Maik Qualmann wrote: > DigiKam changed your drive from C: to F: because both drives have the same > UUID and now selected the wrong drive.
